In 1985 the Korac final was held in Brussels, where Milan and Varese won the title, with a clear victory (91-78) for an Olimpia Milan that after years of drought won a trophy again

Olimpia Milano – Red Star
Aris Thessaloniki – Varese

In an all-Italian Cup final Korać, Milan’s Simac have left behind their label of eternal second fiddle and won a new continental title after several years of drought. Dan Peterson’s side have dominated most of the match, although after taking a maximum lead of 14 points (38-24, min. 16), they managed to relax so much that they allowed Ciaocrem Varese to turn the game around in spectacular fashion (48-49, min. 25). Despite the successive elimination of Carroll (the disastrous American center in this game), Premier and Meneghin, the Varese team was not able to take advantage of this circumstance to give the coup de grace to their rivals. The awakening of Mike d’Antoni in the second half and the huge match of the American forward Russ Schoene allowed the Simac to escape again on the scoreboard and enjoy a relaxed end of the match.
