Cup 1988 Final: Solozábal sentences Real Madrid to triple

In 1988 the cup was held in Valladolid, which had an exciting final between Real Madrid and Barcelona, which was only decided after a triple final by Nacho Solozábal (84-83). A shot to remember in the history of the King’s Cup

Madrid led the way almost the entire match, although never with too much of an advantage (42-46). That’s how the final went, with many alternations on the scoreboard, until the last possession was reached with Madrid two up. He had one hand on the cup, but Barcelona had the last possession, and did not waste it. Solozábal scored three times to win.

Epi and Sibilio were Barcelona’s top scorers with 18 points, followed by Solozábal with 15. In Madrid, Alexis, 22 points, Biriukov, 20 and Fernando Martín (19).
